GAMES STUDIES : EXERCISE (2)WEEK1-WEEK7

Exercise 2: Non-digital to digital - Evolution and remediating this game
It details the gameplay, the differences between the physical and virtual versions, and the core game mechanics and compares them with 2D and 3D chess, exploring the pros and cons of the game's presentation. It concludes that both the digital and physical versions have their own advantages and that a combination of the two may be the future direction of the game.

When writing, I first clarified the purpose of introducing the various features of the UNO game and then collected information, such as official rules, related websites, and videos, to ensure that the content is accurate and authoritative. In terms of structural arrangement, it is organized in the order of gameplay, version differences, core mechanisms, comparative analysis, and conclusions, with clear logic. When describing the gameplay, first explain the goal, then explain the preparation work, card-playing rules, etc.; when comparing the physical and virtual versions, it is carried out from multiple angles, such as operation, interaction, and game rhythm, with clear organization. At the same time, use concise language to explain professional terms, and use charts to enhance readability and make it easy for readers to understand.

Self-reflection

After completing this analysis of the UNO game, I have gained a lot but also realized many problems. In terms of content selection, although I tried my best to cover key information such as gameplay, physical and virtual differences, I have not done enough in terms of in-depth exploration. For example, when comparing 2D and 3D chess, I simply listed the characteristics without in-depth analysis of their different impacts on players' strategic thinking. In terms of structure, the overall structure is quite organized, but in the difference between the physical and virtual versions, too much emphasis is placed on the automatic processing of the virtual version system, while the details of the physical version player interaction are not described enough, resulting in an imbalance of details. The language expression is relatively clear, but there are problems of repetition and verbosity, such as repeating similar sentences many times when describing the effects of function cards, which affects the fluency of reading. In future creations, I will collect more examples to deepen the content, carefully adjust the structure to highlight the key points, and carefully polish the language to make the content better.
